Dawn
My head feels ragged
I hear the streets
They’re awake
More alive than me
Tea and a slice of toast
I look through melted sodium and sand
And feel roped
Noon
Comes and I still feel the hurt
The sore beneath the skin’s
Like a fighter who goes for the win
Twilight
Comes and I’m still inside
Remnants
Of my past collide
I’m like a spy shadowing me
Colours turn grey
Treasures erode in front of me
Nighttime
Comes and still this emotional upheaval
A glass of wine to amplify my sins
I look at the ticket in the bin
And dream of my trek
I still dream of your breath
in my neck
